Epicenter Helsinki

Spatial branding that inspires innovative encounters

Epicenter is a digital house of innovation and a new type of office environment – a physical platform designed to help local and international entrepreneurs and tech companies meet to innovate, collaborate, and grow their businesses. Epicenter Helsinki is located in the heart of the city, in a listed building that originally served as the headquarter of Atlas bank. The building was designed by architects Toivo and Jussi Paatela in 1929.

The new premises strongly reflect Epicenter’s brand identity. The aim of the spatial design was to encourage innovative and inspiring encounters throughout the premises. The open-plan concept allows for layered views, leading the eye from one space through to the next. Bold materials and patterns, used throughout the offices, open-plan working areas, and conference facilities make Epicenter Helsinki clearly distinguishable yet recognizable as part of an international brand. In addition to using color as a branding tool for the space, the interior concept draws inspiration from the building’s historical color palette – the result is a play of contrast between classic details and a contemporary concept, which culminates in the impressive two-stories high gathering hall.
