Hanko Sushi

Natural elements intertwine Japanese and Scandinavian aesthetics

Hanko Sushi at Stockmann department store is the first location to incorporate the chain’s new interior concept. The design is a fresh step toward a more natural aesthetic - inspiration was drawn from traditional Japanese pottery and minimal design, as well as traditional Finnish elements. Earthy materials such as terracotta and natural birch were introduced to intertwine the Japanese and Scandinavian design languages in a warm yet modern way. The aim of the new concept is to offer a relaxing dining experience more intertwined with nature, reflective of pure ingredients and simple quality. A new logo, designed exclusively for Stockmann, accompanies the new visual concept in the department store’s Hanko Sushi locations.
