Bun2Bun is Finland's first all-vegan burger chain. With a new location on the horizon in Helsinki's lively Harju neighborhood, our task was to fine-tune the chain's branding and develop an adaptable spatial identity. The aim was to create a highly recognizable retail concept that can be implemented into various environments, from additional brick and mortar spots to mall locations and food trucks.
The new spatial identity highlights Bun2Bun as an easily approachable, relaxed and comfortable premium burger chain. Spatial tonality comes to play throughout the interior - industrial roughness, vintage inspiration and a mix of deep, light and bright colors make up a space that intertwines classic burger bar heritage with playful, edgy vibes that feel fresh and out-of-the-box.
Instead of a traditional service counter and closed kitchen, the new restaurant focuses on reducing the borders between staff and customers by opening up all service areas for a more relaxed approach to both food and customer service. Tiled walls, color-blocking, wire glass, and modern interpretations of classic diner-style furniture inspire customers to grab a bun, sit down and chill. Bun2Bun's new food truck stays true to the concepts by implementing the new brand colors, graphics, and distinctive typography.
Our task was also to brighten, clarify and unify the existing brand image. Particular attention was paid to typography, which was updated without veering from the brand's original look. The brand colors were partly altered to include brighter and more playful accents. A new photography style-guide inspires staff to maintain a uniform brand image across all marketing and media channels.
